Cons

Technology can be a huge distraction in our everyday lives and we can spend hours on the screen. Studies show that more screen time leads to more health problems such as:

  • Obesity 

  • Sleep deprivation

  • Eye problems

  • Back pain and headaches 

-An international study of 10-12 year old boys showed that increased screen time led to increased body mass index

- In the United States, found that 26.2% of Americans are obese. 

-A study found that several technological uses led to physical problems such as email, cell phones, video games, I-message, and electronic toys

Pros
  • There are many technological tools such as exergames, mobile apps, and wearable trackers to support, improve, and track our overall physical health. 

  •  Technology can improve our eyesight such as our perception in color contrast. 

  • With technology, hospital can offer services through email, live video, and phone.
